- When a signers identification appears to be fraudulent
- When a signer presents an affidavit and refuses to take an oath or an affirmation (duly note this in your record book)
- When the signer appears to be under pressure or constraints
- When the signer has no sufficient identification and a credible witness cannot be produced.
- When a signer is mentally disabled (comprehension disability)
- When a signer does not appear to be competent or aware of what he/she is signing and/or why he/she is signing it
